Philippine GGR jumps in Q3

Total gross gaming revenue in the Philippines jumped 11.2 percent in Q3, led by higher revenue from casinos in Entertainment City.

According to figures from regulator, the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp., revenue from casinos and electronic gaming sites came in at PHP39.74 billion ($807.2 million). Revenue generated from e-gaming sites was PHP5.57 billion, a gain from the PHP5.32 billion a year ago despite a government crackdown on online gaming, while casino revenue surged to PHP34.16 billion, compared with PHP30.41 billion a year earlier.

Year to date, revenue is PHP118.26 billion, compared with PHP133.27 billion for the whole of 2015.

The main gains came from casinos in Entertainment City, which generated revenue of PHP26.6 billion, up from PHP18.88 billion. Non-junket business at the licensed casinos rose to PHP10.54 billion from PHP9.38, while junket business increased from PHP6.95 billion to PHP8.38 billion.
