Philippine transport official probed over slots video

 
Presidential spokesman Edwin Lacierda said that Land Transportation Office chief Virginia Torres will not be immediately removed after a YouTube video surfaced showing her playing slots. "We’ll look into it first," he said. "You cannot just axe immediately." Philippine government employees, include soldiers and police, are barred from patronizing casinos. Torres said she was looking at the slot machine "out of curiosity" as a friend was settling a restaurant bill. Transportation Secretary Joseph Emilio Abaya was charged with investigating her.
