Play’n GO brings Hugo back

Swedish supplier Play’n GO has partnered with Hugo Games A/S to bring Hugo, the famous Danish animated troll, to slot players around the world.

Set to be released in 16Q3 simultaneously in HTML5 and Flash, Hugo will be a five-reel, 10 payline slot that features premium animations and sound based on the classic animated character’s original environments.

The deal between the parties will see RoyalCasino.dk receive exclusive distribution rights in Denmark, while Play’n GO will then bring the title to other markets around the world through direct operators deals.

First seen on Danish TV screens in 1990, the interactive children’s TV show Hugo aired in more than 40 countries and has spawned dozens of video games, books, magazines and feature films.

Copenhaged-based Hugo Games A/S (NOK: HUGO) owns the intellectual property rights to the Hugo franchise and Play’n GO’s forthcoming title will be the first real money game adaptation for the listed company.

Martin Zettergren, chief operating officer of Play’n GO, said: “We are extremely excited to work on Hugo – a character that many around the world grew up with and remember fondly.

“We can’t wait to bring Hugo and friends to the world of premium slots, and I’m certain that the agreement with Hugo Games A/S and RoyalCasino.dk will bear fruit for all parties.”

Play’n GO has been nominated for the prestigious EGR B2B Awards in two categories, Innovation in Mobile and Slot Provider of the Year.

Their games are now prominent on the sites of 100 operators in more than 32 languages.
