POGOs also shuttered during Covid-19 lockdown

Philippine authorities have made clear that the Covid-19 lockdown also includes Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGOs), which will not be allowed to operate during this period.

"Philippine offshore gaming operators shall not be included in those establishments allowed to operate for the duration of the enhanced community quarantine," Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles told a press conference.

A PAGCOR memorandum issued to all licensed POGO operators on March 18 informed them that their exemption as a key export industry had been removed, meaning that, “Reporting of 25% skeletal workforce at operating sites is no longer allowed” and that “Employees must remain at their place of residence.”

Even visits to the office by maintenance personnel will require a special permit from the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF).
