Police arrest three for cheating in Sihanoukville casino

Cambodian police have arrested three local residents for allegedly cheating in a Sihanoukville casino, local media reports.

The men were usings tricks and hiding cards to swindle more than $160,000 from the casino. The Ya Duo Li Casino will also now be investigated for allowing locals to gamble in violation of a nationwide ban, the newspaper said.

The men deny the allegations and say they were accused of cheating when they went to claim their winnings. They were handed a check, but when they requested cash they were detained in a separate room by security guards.

Dieb Chhay, executive director for Ya Duo Li, told the newspaper he had only heard of the incident from the casino staff, again repeating that the men had been held for cheating on the casino floor.
