Police crackdown on illegal gambling ring

Police cracked down on an illegal gambling ring that organized games online disguised as “bookmaking activity.” According to local media, the website was registered abroad, and a large number of people were involved. Reports say that the illegal business was generating up to 50 million rubles ($1.5 million) a day. During the raid, police also seized server equipment with players’ personal data as well as draft notes.
