Police nab five people over HKD3.4 million casino fraud

Macau’s Judiciary Police arrested a dealer and other four suspects for allegedly cheating a casino of HKD3.4 million ($439,000), TDM Macau reported.

The dealer, a 38-year-old woman who began working the the casino in 2012, was reported to authorities after she was suspected of defrauding the casino where she works in Cotai.

The police believe that the suspect defrauded the casino 48 times by giving extra gaming chips to four accomplices from mainland China.

“She intentionally gave additional gaming chips to the other four suspects when they exchanged their cash. In addition, the dealer gave the other suspects additional gaming chips when they won a game, and when they lost, the dealer would change their bets to the winning side and give them chips as if they had won”, Judiciary Police Spokesperson Lei Hon Nei was quoted as saying by TDM.
