Police raid Chinese gambling operation in N. Vietnam

Vietnamese police in Quang Ninh province in northern Vietnam arrested a 28-member Chinese gang in early September which was allegedly running a large-scale gambling ring in the region, local media reported.
A raid on a provincial hotel, the Ngoc Anh, uncovered the gang running the gambling sites, used by thousands of Chinese gamblers.
The gang was reported to have used local internet lines to avoid Chinese oversight, the police said.
The group, together with dozens of internet servers, computers and other documents were handed over to Chinese authorities on September 13 for further investigation.
