QTech Games caps Snowborn distribution deal

QTech Games has announced a new acquisition deal which sees Asia’s fastest-growing games distributor take a majority share in rising-star gaming studio Snowborn Games.

After a successful 2017 of triple-digit growth, enhancing the speed and performance of all games on its platform, QTech has broadened its global reach in 2018 with a series of new deals and tools, and taking a controlling stake in Sweden’s emerging video slots provider is the next step in this evolution.

Naturally, the next video slots off Snowborn Games’ top-class production line will all be exclusively available via QTech Games’ platform, showing a collective commitment to creating an elite offering.

This standout video content forms the latest component of QTech’s ever-widening suite of premium products which allows their partners to cater to a variety of consumer tastes across multiple Asian territories. Snowborn Games share this thirst for original, innovative design - underpinned by cutting-edge technology and the finest maths models on the market for engaging gameplay.

Jonas Alm, QTech Games’ CEO, said: “Snowborn Games is currently putting the finishing touches to their initial gaming portfolio which I have no doubt will prove hugely successful. We are delighted to be teaming up with them, considering their key-person track record for ingenuity in this arena.

“It’s the next phase in our goal to become the largest provider of digital entertainment in Asia over the next few years. Indeed, we are presently very active in this space, looking to enlist small gaming studios with big ideas that can become a part of our developing QTech family.”

Magnus Palmstierna Eckhell, CEO of Snowborn Games, added: “The combination of QTech Games’ huge distribution model, coupled to Snowborn’s creative content, forms a knockout combination.

“We’ve always been intent on employing the best personnel on the planet, not just in the Nordics. This partnership with QTech is an extension of that mission statement. For we now have a majority partner whose distributional scope can facilitate our transition into a world-leading studio, powered by state-of-the-art tech and a team whose passion and dedication are only matched by our own.

“We believe our upcoming games will be a great complement to their platform, as this deal allows us to continue our growth into untapped markets, with our hallmark flexibility of integration.”

Mobile growth in Asian gaming is ramping in tandem with rising smartphone adoption rates. To which end, QTech Games has also launched QT Play earlier this year, the first recommendation mobile app tailor-made for the gaming industry, running off technology that allows players to choose any game from any provider. QT Play’s automated-curation solution also ensures that players always find their favourite games, without ever missing out on an appropriate new release.
