Queensland clubs and pubs revenue down monthly in September

Revenues from clubs and pubs operating in the Australian state of Queensland in September showed a single-digit drop monthly, despite generally recording improvements on a yearly basis.

According to the latest figures, compiled by Geoff Wohlsen of Wohlsen Consulting, September gross revenues were up by 0.8 percent yearly but down by 5.4 percent monthly, totaling AU$283.38 million ($182.36 million).
Clubs saw a 2.5 percent yearly uptick and a 4.1 percent monthly fall, to AU$121.49 million ($78.18 million).
For operations in hotels, revenue was down 6.3 percent monthly and 0.4 percent yearly, to AU$161.89 million ($104.18 million).
Queensland, alongside federal authorities, has been undergoing a regulatory crackdown and restructuring, including the introduction of a mandatory cashless regime.
