Queensland moves forward with casino plan

The Queensland government has called for expressions of interest to build an integrated resort in Brisbane and two regional areas, moving forward with its plans to allow more casinos. The projects are expected to gather worldwide attention, with Echo Entertainment and Melco Crown already stating their interest. "Officers from my department did a market sounding and they travelled to Asia, America and New Zealand and spoke to the major operators and there was a significant amount of international interest in what's happening," Queensland Deputy Premier Jeff Seeney said.
