Quezon City construction to begin mid-2019

Bloomberry Resorts Corp says it plans to begin the construction of its Quezon City integrated resort and casino from the middle of next year, local media reports.

Bloomberry chairman and chief executive Enrique Razon Jr. said in an interview following the group’s annual stockholders meeting that the construction of the IR would be part of the group’s strategy to capture the base mass market in the North.

He said that the planned-high rise hotel and casino project will be smaller than its flagship Solaire Resorts and Casino.

“We are finalizing the design. We have our in-house designers, we have engineering consultants,” he said.

Razon said that development costs of the casino project is still being finalized, and that a masterplan for the project should be completed by January.

The planned mixed-use development includes a hotel and casino on a 1.5-hectare property on Vertis North, in Manila.

The project is slated for completion by 2022.
