Rajasthan Royals owner questioned

Police questioned Raj Kundra, co-owner of the Rajasthan Royals, for about 10 hours in connection with the investigation into Indian Premier League bet fixing in which three of the team's players have been arrested, and said he admitted betting on matches, including those of his team. A Delhi court this week denied bail for Shanthakumaran Sreesanth, the most prominent of the three players, but a Mumbai court granted bail to several others arrested in the case including actor Vindoo Dara Singh and Gurunath Meiyappan, a top official with the Chennai Super Kings and the son-in-law of Narayanaswami Srinivasan, the president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India. Srinivasan meanwhile stepped aside from his duties while the board's chairman and two other top officials resigned. Police have summoned Vikram Aggarwal, owner of the Radisson Blu hotel in Chennai, for questioning on reports he allowed bookies to operate from his hotel and allegedly played a key role in the IPL betting ring.
