Resorts World Sentosa to adopt Alipay terminals

Chinese visitors can now use Alipay at over 110 locations within Singapore’s Resorts World Sentosa, the operator said in a statement on Monday.

Resorts World Sentosa said it entered into a strategic collaboration with Ant Financial Services Group, which allows Chinese visitors to pay online.

Currently, Chinese visitors can already make online bookings for hotels and attractions at the resort, and can select Alipay for online payment. With the new collaboration, Alipay terminals are now available throughout the complex for use in dining, retail and entertainment.

These services include scanning of QR or barcodes on their Alipay mobile application to pay for purchases, booking attraction tickets online and storing the electronic admission passes conveniently on their smartphones, as well as online-to-offline (O2O) redemption deals on Alipay.

A number of joint travel packages, exclusive to Alipay users will also be rolled out, said the statement.

"This collaboration seeks to bring about greater convenience and appeal to Chinese visitors, and position Alipay as everyone's preferred global lifestyle mobile app," said RWS.
