Richard Suen closer to collecting Sands verdict

Las Vegas Sands Corp. lost a bid in Nevada district court to throw out a $70 million Las Vegas jury award to Hong Kong businessman Richard Suen over help he said he provided the company in its successful effort to win a gaming concession in Macau in 2002. Among Las Vegas Sands' arguments were that one juror held "serious bias" against the company as he had told another juror that her fear of Sheldon Adelson, Sands' chairman and chief executive, must have been the reason she had hesitated to find against him. The company said it would continue to appeal the verdict.
