Royal International in Vietnam records 15th straight quarter of losses

Vietnam’s Royal International Corp, operator of the largest casino in the Halong city of Quang Ninh province, has again reported losses for the second quarter, marking the 15th consecutive period of losses for the company.

Revenues fell by 42 percent yearly during the quarter, to just VND42 billion ($1.77 million), while losses totaled VND24 billion ($1.01 million).
According to VNExpress, the casino itself saw losses of VND9 billion ($380,000), while the hospitality segment recorded VND14.5 billion in losses during 2Q23 ($612,000).
The group operates a foreigner-only casino with 18 tables and 62 slots, open 24/7. Play includes baccarat, roulette, blackjack and other popular games.
In 2022, the group recorded a loss of some VND61 billion ($2.57 million), despite revenue being up by some 60 percent., to VND119 billion ($5.02 million).
