Russia suspends operations of remaining casinos

With Moscow and other Russian regions gradually imposing a lockdown amid the coronavirus outbreak, casinos across all Russian gambling zones have suspended operations.

Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that Casino Sobranie in Kaliningrad Region's Yantarnaya gambling zone and Tigre de Cristal in the Primorye gambling zone will be closed from 28 March to 5 April to prevent the spread of the disease.

The Altai Palace casino in the Siberian Coin gambling zone shut its doors a day earlier, not specifying when it will open them back again.

Gambling facilities in the Sochi-based gambling zone were the first to suspend operations on 26 March.

Several major bookmakers, including Liga Stavork, Baltbet, and Fonbet, have also temporarily closed their betting shops, concentrating instead on online bets.
