Russia’s Tigre de Cristal project presented at Eastern Economic Forum

Russia’s much delayed Tigre de Cristal casino complex in the Primorye region in Russia’s far east was presented to delegates at the Eastern Economic Forum, which wrapped up last weekend in Vladivostok.

Slot machines were available in a demo mode for delegates to try out, according to regional news agency Primamedia.ru.

Craig Ballantyne, who will head the project, has also confirmed the casino will hold a soft opening on Oct. 8th after being pushed back from August 28th, in the latest in a series of missed opening deadlines.

Hong Kong-listed Summit Ascent Holdings, which is developing the project, has attributed the latest delays to custom delays, which resulted in slower-than-expected delivery of final fit out materials.

“In addition, commissioning of HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning) and some other building systems proved to be more time consuming than previously surmised,” the company said in a recent stock exchange filing.
