RWM collaborates with government for rehab center

Philippines-based Resorts World Manila (RWM) is working with the local government to establish a treatment and rehabilitation center for drug dependents in the Southern Philippines, local media reports.

Working with the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR), Department of Health (DOH), and the Davao City Government, the groundbreaking and capsule laying ceremony was held recently at the project site in Calinan, Brgy. Malagos, Davao City.

“The past 6 months have brought the country's problem concerning illegal drugs to the spotlight,” said Kingson Sian, president and CEO of Travellers International Hotel Group, Inc, who is the developer and operator of Resorts World Manila.

“Through our Resorts World Philippines Cultural Heritage Foundation (RWPCHF), we aim to manifest our commitment to help and support timely government initiatives to help address this issue.”

The casino operator is allocating up to P200 million into the project, which will be the first DOH-compliant treatment and rehabilitation center in the country.

“It is our sincere hope that this project would serve as our lasting and meaningful contribution to the government’s strong efforts to make our country a better one for generations to come,” Sian added.
