Sands awarded for human resources initiatives in 2017

Casino operator Sands China says it has earned multiple awards in Greater China this year for its innovative human resources initiatives.

In April 2017, Human Resources Magazine’s ASIA Recruitment Awards 2017 gave Sands China a Gold Award for Best Recruitment Innovation by a Corporate HR Team for the innovative and efficient recruitment process at the large-scale French-themed recruitment fairs for The Parisian Macao. The magazine also gave the company a Silver Award for Best Candidate Experience by a Corporate HR Team in recognition of its efforts to create a convenient and inspiring job-seeking experience for external local candidates at The Parisian Macao’s recruitment fair, and for offering an abundance of horizontal career development opportunities to existing team members through the My Way programme.

In July 2017, Sands China was again recognized for The Parisian Macao’s recruitment fair, with the company named as one of the Best Recruitment Project Award recipients at the 2017 Employer Branding Creativity Award in Greater China. The event also saw Sands China named as one of the recipients of the Best Employee Experience Award for its Because We Care Team Member Awards. Also receiving awards at the event were internationally renowned companies including Tencent, Baidu, GE, H&M, SAP, Marriott International, IHG and more, with Sands China as the only Macao-based company represented.

“Sands China is honored to receive these awards,” said Antonio Ramirez, senior vice president of human resources for Sands China Ltd. “We consider our team members to be our most valuable asset, so we take great pride in our efforts to provide them with ample opportunities for career development and advancement. We aim to be Macao’s employer of choice, and are pleased with the recognition for our efforts on team member recruitment and development.”

The company has also been creating and delivering various kinds of leadership, talent development, and service enhancement courses for its team members. In 2016, the company delivered more than 1.25 million paid training hours, averaging 427 team members trained each day.
