Second Brit arrested over illegal tennis betting allegations

A second British man has been arrested in two weeks over allegations of illegal betting at a weekend tennis match in Melbourne, local media reports. The 29-year old man had a laptop computer when he was stopped courtside. He was interviewed and released and the investigation is ongoing. Last week, another British man was arrested and accused of corrupting a betting outcome at the Australian Open. He was the first person in Australia to be charged with a “court-siding” offence under Victoria's new sports integrity laws, which were introduced in April and carry a maximum 10-year jail sentence.
