Sega Sammy creates new logo to reflect future direction

Sega Sammy Holdings, a pachinko, entertainment and resort business based in Japan, has announced it will change its logo in August, which it says will demonstrate the future direction of the group.

The company, run by Hajime Satomi, president of Sega Sammy Holdings is involved in the Pachislot and Pachinko Machines Business, Entertainment Contents Business and Resort Business.

It is one of a very few Japanese enterprises that has substantial experience in the gaming industry. They currently own a large minority stake in Paradise City in Incheon, Korea, at which almost fifty direct employees of Sega Sammy Holdings are currently deployed.

Last November, Hajime Satomi told a meeting that his company aimed for a “main position” in a Japan IR consortium.

Regarding the rebranding of the logo, the company said: “The business environment has undergone significant changes since the business integration of SEGA and Sammy over a decade ago. Under such circumstances, our decision to create a new group logo was made as we had come to recognize the need for a new brand symbol demonstrating a future direction of Sega Sammy Group, departing from the current logo which represents the integration of SEGA and Sammy.”

“We will aim for further growth of the Group by implementing the thoughts we have put together in the new brand logo in actual business activities,” it added.
