Select Committee to meet on Mar. 2 to discuss Nagaland skill games bill

The Additional Secretary, NLA, K.Sekhose has announced that the meeting of the Select Committee on the Nagaland Prohibition of Gambling and Promotion and Regulation of Online Games of Skill Bill, 2015 will be held on Mar. 2, according to a press release.

Nagaland was the first state in India to introduce special legislation to regulate and license online skill games like poker, rummy and fantasy sports. However, the Bill was not passed in 2015 due to opposition from the powerful religious group Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC).

All the concerned Committee Members have been requested to attend the meeting to discuss the Bill.
