Sikkim launches first legal sports betting arena

Sikkim-based Golden Gaming International Pvt. Ltd. says it is building one of Sikkim’s first sports betting and online gaming establishments.

The company was the first to start legal online sports betting and gaming in Sikkim.

In a press release, the operator said it launched in accordance with laws passed by the Sikkim government and had been granted a regular license by the Government of Sikkim for conducting online games and sports betting within the Sikkim State.

A landmark property of around 8,000 sq. ft. on the prestigious New Market (Upper M.G. Marg) Gangtok has been redesigned by the company to include modern gaming kiosks and sports events waging zones for their patrons.

Former Indian cricket captain Shri Kapil Dev was the chief guest at the opening ceremony of the flagship gaming arena at MG Marg, Gangtok.

Commenting on this momentous occasion, Manoj Sethi, director of Golden Gaming International Pvt. Ltd. said, “Our venture is the first such initiative in the country which will bring fiscal revenues to the state of Sikkim as well as provide employment to local youth and establishment of self-sustenance counters.

Recently, even the Justice Lodha committee report has asked state governments to legalize gambling. I think all other state governments should also study the unique model created by the Sikkim government and legalise, regulate and license gambling and betting.”
