Six arrested for cheating using electronic devices

A group of three men and three women have been arrested for cheating in the Marina Bay Sands and Resorts World Sentosa casinos in Singapore, local media reports.

The six, ranging from 33 and 41 years of age were suspected of cheating using electronic devices while betting at the machines.

The police were first alerted to a case of suspected cheating on Saturday at the Resorts World Sentosa casino, and then launched investigations.

Four suspects were arrested the next day, and the remaining two were arrested at a hotel in Tanjong Pagar.

A number of mobile phones, a laptop, cash and other items were seized as evidence, the police said.

If convicted, the perpetrators face up to seven years in jail, or a fine up to S$150,000 (US$109,500).
