SJM “looking forward” to gaming license continuation

Macau casino operator SJM Holdings is “looking forward” to the continuation of its gaming license, which is due to expire next year, so said SJM chairman Ambrose So Shu Fai last week, according to a report from Macau News.

So made the comments in a speech during the company’s annual Chinese New Years gala dinner held at the Grand Lisboa.

“We look forward to the continuation of our gaming concession, joining hands with the government and the people of Macau in creating a new chapter in the city’s growth story – in economic prosperity, social stability, and community development,” said So.

The chairman said that the year will see the completion of SJM’s Grand Lisboa Palace in Cotai.

Also addressing the dinner was SJM managing director Angela Leong On Kei.

Leong said SJM was fully supportive of the government’s move to develop Macau into a world center of tourism and leisure and promoting economic diversification.
