SJM recruitment center opens

Casino operator SJM Holdings held the opening ceremony of the SJM Recruitment Center on Thursday.

Located on the 10th floor of the China Civil Plaza at Alameda Dr. Carlos d'Assumpção, the Center intends to wholly support SJM’s large-scale recruitment in the future.

With Hotel Jai Alai operating soon and Grand Lisboa Palace, SJM’s landmark integrated resort on Cotai, set to open in the first half of 2018, these two projects will create over 10,000 job vacancies. The SJM Recruitment Center is therefore established to specifically cater to the large number of local applicants.

The Center is approximately 5,000 square feet, and is equipped with many meeting rooms for the purposes of application, onsite job interviews and other activities. The venue can also be used to conduct job fairs, greatly advancing the efficiency of applications and recruitment. The Center also provides the applicants with computer facilities to allow them to search and apply for job vacancies with ease and convenience. Additionally, the Center is located adjacent to the SJM Performance Improvement Department, enabling close connection between recruitment and training which elevates the efficiency of human resources development.

The opening ceremony of the SJM Recruitment Center was officiated by Mr. Chan Un Tong, deputy director of the Labour Affairs Bureau of the Macao SAR Government, Mr. Leong Man Ion, deputy director of the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (DICJ), Mr. Cheng Wai Tong, deputy director of the Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO), Dr. Shuen Ka Hung, director-general of Macau Productivity and Technology Transfer Center, Dr. Ambrose So, chairman of the board of directors of SJM, Ms. Angela Leong, managing director and chief administrative oficer of SJM, and Mr. Louis Ng, director and chief operating officer of SJM. After the ribbon cutting ceremony, the officiating guests were given a tour of the Center for a deeper understanding of the recruitment process.

Ms. Angela Leong, managing director and chief administrative officer of SJM, said, “The slogan for SJM Recruitment Center is ‘Intelligence, Passion and Innovation’, reflecting our hope to fully utilise SJM’s experience and knowledge to embrace future challenges with positivity and innovation in an ever-changing society. To motivate and progress with our staff persistently, SJM will uphold ‘Growth, Rapport, Excellence, Agility and Trust’ as the principles for employee relations. Moreover, SJM has always been keen on promoting the recruitment of local talent; therefore, we have launched a recruitment website to facilitate local applications. Macau citizens may visit the website for SJM’s job openings from today and submit their resumes online. In the near future, they can also browse our recruitment information on Facebook and WeChat.”

SJM’s recruitment website integrates the job openings for Hotel Jai Alai, Grand Lisboa Palace and other SJM properties, including positions ranging from frontline to back-office operations of both gaming and non-gaming departments. The vacancies also include managerial and supervisory roles, providing locals upward movement opportunities. All positions based in Macau are limited to local citizens only; interested applicants may register online and fill in personal particulars to apply for positions and submit their resume.
