SkyCity Auckland says more gamblers leaving kids unattended

SkyCity reported a rise in the number of children under 14 who were left unattended by their parents at its Auckland casino last year to 49 from 42 in 2011.

The company made the disclosure in a Host Responsibility report to the New Zealand Gambling Commission. The casino outlined seven measures to prevent children from being abandoned while their parents gamble, including boosting security patrols of risk areas and a bigger security contingent in the atrium during school holidays.
