SkyCity former employee charged with NZ$2.5 million theft


A former member of staff of SkyCity Casino in New Zealand has been charged with defrauding the casino of more than NZ$2.5 million ($1.7 million), local media reports.

Tessa Fiona Grant allegedly used cheques and invoices from SkyCity to siphon money to herself, and appeared at Hamilton District Court facing 49 fraud-related charges.

Grant’s lawyer, Guyon Foley has pleaded not guilty on her behalf.

The former SkyCity employee has been granted bail provided she remain at her Horotiu address and does not apply for travel documents.

She is to face court again in June.
