U.S.-based research company, Flurry Analytics, says surveys point to an increasing trend of people gaming on smartphones, with a global average of 37 minutes a day. The Flurry Analytics research covered a survey sample of 60,000.
In the survey, players in the United States spent 51.8 minutes a day, with Germany second at 47.1 minutes and Russia at third with 40.8 minutes. At the other end of the scale, were regions such as China where smartphone users spent an average 28.6 minutes a day gaming, with the French spending 30.1 minutes on average and the United Kingdom at 32.4 minutes.
In China, 53 per cent of game time was taken up with action and arcade titles, with South Koreans dedicating 74 percent of gaming minutes to similar titles.
In Germany and Italy more than 50 percent of players devoted their gaming time to "brain and puzzles" titles.
