Sochi’s Krasnaya Polyana issues first license

Local authorities have issued the first casino operating license in Sochi's Krasnaya Polyana (Red Meadow) gambling zone, reports state-owned TASS news agency, citing a press release from the Krasnodar Region administration.

The name of the company which was granted a license has also been revealed.

Called LLC Domain, the company was established by the Singapore-based construction company Silverron International Pte.Ltd in December 2015. LLC Domain CEO Mikhail Danilov has business interests in Altai and Primorye gambling zones and shares in two Russian bookmakers, Star Bet and Bingo Boom.

"Following its application LLC Domain has been granted permission to carry out activities for the organization and conduct of gambling in the Krasnaya Polyana gambling zone by the Department of Property Relations of Krasnodar Region," the press release said.

It was also noted that no other applications from casino operators have been received as of yet.

The soft-launch of the first casino in Sochi is expected to be held on the eve of Christmas 2016, while the full-scale opening is planned for the beginning of 2017.
