A "special entertainment facility" featuring around 40 gaming tables and 50 slot machines is to open at the Ocean Sonic Resort on Hainan island, an unnamed source told the Macau Business Daily.
The casino-like center would operate like a pachinko parlor, with successful bets paid out in "points" that will be converted by a third party into cash. A second unnamed source told the paper the center is backed by a Beijing group and was originally to open in late August. The paper said another special entertainment facility has reopened at the Mangrove Tree Resort World after being closed for several months.
