Stop the casino industry before it's too late: MLA

Goa Congress MLA Pandurang Madkaikar has condemned the growing number of casinos in the state, calling on the government to put a stop to the casino industry before it starts to control the government.

"There is a need to bring control in casinos. If this continues, Goa will go out of the hands of the government and will be controlled by casino lobbies. Tomorrow, the casinos will control Goa. Casinos will decide who the CM is, who the minister is."

The MLA also urged chief minister Laxmikant Parsekar to visit international casinos to understand what effect it will have on society.

Madkaikar also added that major casino players in Las Vegas, Singapore and Macau also had stakes in Goan casinos.
