Studio City 100 days away from opening: Bernstein

As Melco Crown gets ready to announce the opening date of Studio City on Wednesday, Bernstein Research estimates that it will be 100 days before it is ready to open.

Analyst Vitaly Umansky wrote in a note that Bernstein estimates that Studio City “will be a Base Mass focused property with abundant unique non-gaming features that may attract incremental visitation.” 

The Street expectation is that they will get 150 new-to-market tables, which is also the assumption that the company is working with now. 

“In our view, among the new casinos resorts, Studio City has been most heavily promoted in China, which we believe is positive for a successful ramp up after opening.”
