Studio City tour and date unveiling changed

Melco Crown Entertainment has changed the date for the announcement of the “Grand Opening” of its Hollywood-themed Studio City property to August 5.

The company said it has rescheduled the date from August 3 as initially planned to Wednesday and will still offer “an exclusive sneak preview of key attractions” in a hard-hat tour of the resort followed by a grand opening date announcement ceremony.

The resort's opening has generated considerable interest, with analysts seeing the $3.2 billion art deco-themed property as the true game changer when it comes to boosting non-gaming facilities in Macau and therefore a better indicator as to whether the territory can diversify and attract a wider tourist base.
