Success Dragon chairman and CEO resigns

Hong Kong-listed Success Dragon International Holdings on Thursday announced the resignation of its chairman and chief executive officer Mr. Carlos Luis Salas Porras, effective March 3, 2017.

Mr. Salas will also step down in his role as executive director effective April 1, 2017.

According to the company filing on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, Mr. Salas confirmed that there was no disagreement with the board, and said his resignation was tendered “as he would like to focus on his other businesses.”

There is no replacement for the role of chief executive officer, but the company says it is in the process of searching for suitable candidate for the role.

Meanwhile, Mr. Salas’ position as chairman and executive director will be taken up by Ms. Li Xuehua, effective March 3, 2017.

Additionally, Mr. Zheng Jian Peng, an independent non-executive Director, will be appointed as the chairman of the Nomination Committee of the company.

Last year, Success Dragon announced it had expanded its business in Vietnam through the provision of the management services for greyhound racing and providing information technology services in relation to the installation, management and maintenance of terminals, screens and smart devices for the betting outlets in Vietnam.

In January 2017, the company announced it was considering investing in a non-gaming related industry - a company engaged in renewable energy.
