Success Universe, which is engaged in the travel, lottery and gaming business, said it plans to restructure its retail outlets to “gain more exposure,” after reporting a heavy loss in the first half of the year.
The company, whose flagship investment is the Ponte 16 casino and hotel in Macau, posted a loss of HK$1.9 million ($245,000) for the six months ended June 30, compared with a profit in the prior corresponding period of HK$47.7 million.
In its interim report, the company said amid increasing demand for leisure travel in North America, it “will continue to leverage on its well connected network and experience in high-end MICE and FIT segments to explore the business potential in expansion of retail market.”
The group plans to restructure the current outlets to gain more market exposure on the retail segment and use “every cross-selling opportunity with Ponte 16 to establish synergies between its travel business and flagship investment project.”
“During this challenging period, the Group strives to enhance its product and service qualities and strengthen its diversified business platforms, adhering to build a sustainable business model.”
