Tax revenues in Primorye to hit RUB165 million in 2016


Russian authorities are expecting tax revenue at the Primorye Integrated Entertainment Zone to reach RUB165 million (US$2.5 million) in 2016, and 700 million annually by 2022.

The statement was made by vice-governor of Primorye, Sergey Nekhaev on Friday last week, which appears on the main page of state-owned Primorsky Krai Development Corporation.

In regards to jobs, Nekhaev said there is already more than a thousand created in the region, and expects this number to reach to nine thousand in 2019 and 15 thousand in 2022.

Hotel rooms have also increased, currently sitting at 121 rooms, it is expected to increase to 1,500 in 2019 and 6,500 by the end of the project.

Earlier this year, local tourism department head Konstantin Shestakov was quoted by state-owned RIA Novosti news agency as saying more than more than 30,000 people have visited the Primorye gaming zone since its official opening on October8, 2015.

Shestakov also noted an overall growth of tourist inflow in 2015 by 18.5 percent, with most of tourists now spending up to three days in the region. Out of 364,802 foreign tourists some 227,950 came from China.

Three months after its official launch the gaming zone paid about RUB110 million of taxes and payments to extra-budgetary funds, including the tax on gaming business to the Primorye territory budget worth 37.5 million roubles.
