The Star appoints chief operating officer of gaming


The Star Sydney has appointed Damian Quayle as chief operating officer (COO) of gaming, overseeing the strategic direction of gaming.

Mr Quayle commenced this role in early July. He will lead The Star’s table games, gaming machines and gaming product and strategy teams, to deliver sustained growth for Sydney’s world-class casino.

Starting with The Star in 2011, Mr Quayle possesses over 20 years of hospitality and gaming experience, with a comprehensive understanding of VIP and mass gaming markets across Asia and Australia. The role of COO of gaming sees Mr Quayle promoted from his preceding role as general manager of table games, where he led a high performance team and implemented new operational efficiencies, to build the property’s dynamic gaming operation.

Greg Hawkins, managing director of The Star Sydney commented on the appointment.

Prior to joining The Star, Mr Quayle gained extensive gaming experience as director of gaming administration at City of Dreams Macau (Melco-Crown) and as table games operations manager at Wynn Macau.
