Macau saw a decrease in visitor arrivals last month, falling 0.6 percent year-on-year, according to data from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC).
Total visitor arrivals, which amounted to 2.9 million in August, was down 1.8 percent month-on-month, mainly as a result of typhoon Hato which brought the city to a standstill in the month.
Same day visitors fell 6.2 percent year-on-year in the month, while overnight visitors increased 4.8 percent.
The month saw visitors from mainland China increased 1.9 percent year-on-year, while visitors from Hong Kong and Taiwan fell 10.5 and 1.9 percent respectively.
Visitors from Korea continued its monthly trend of increase, going up 30.8 percent year-on-year.
Meanwhile, visitors from the US, Canada, Australia and the United Kingdom registered year-on-year decreases, according to the data.
