On August 11, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed the bill 2285-d “About state regulation of activities related to organization and conduct of gambling”. The new law came into effect the next day after publication – on August 13.
Today, there are questions as to how the law will be enforced, how much revenue that legalization will bring to both the state and private sector, and how to enter the gambling market as an international operator.
These questions are set to be covered at Ukrainian Gaming Week 2020 – the first massive industry event from the time of gambling business legalization in the country. Organized by Smile-Expo, the event will take place at Kyiv IEC on October 6-7. It will include a two-day exhibition, expert conference, open lecture session, UGW Awards, and a closed-door VIP party.
Conference topics include a discussion around the legal subtleties of regulation, legislative restrictions in relation to advertising, gambling tourism, responsible gambling, and the building of a positive image of gambling industry – speakers will touch upon these and many other important themes. UGW will feature international gambling experts, Ukrainian lawmakers, and representatives of specialized organizations.
The afterparty of UGW 2020 will feature a special atmosphere combining the best leisure and networking practices, comfortable and friendly vibe, as well as awarding of leading industry players at UGW Awards ceremony.
The closed party will take place on October 6. Only VIP ticket owners, exhibitors, sponsors, speakers, and winners of UGW Awards will have access to this party.
Finally, the UGW Awards will be the first in Ukraine award for outstanding representatives of gambling industry. Its holders will involve companies that have the best record of accomplishment in the gambling market, have achieved significant success in their business area, and shown a quick development pace. Award winners will be chosen by organizers of UGW 2020.
Not to mention, a massive exhibition is planned - with over 5,000 square meters of space, over 100 exhibitors and 3,000 attendees.
Exhibitors will include software developers, gambling hardware manufacturers, affiliate networks and programs, banks, payment aggregators, consulting and law companies, marketing agencies, and many others.
Ukrainian Gaming Week 2020 will take place at Kyiv IEC on October 6-7. Exhibition and lecture session – in pavilion 4-В, conference – in pavilion 3-А.
