Universal files criminal complaint against Aruze, Okada

Universal Entertainment has filed civil and criminal complaints against Aruze Gaming America and billionaire Kazuo Okada claiming its patent rights were violated and seeking compensation.

The Japanese company said Aruze illegally used patents to sell products and has filed suit in Macau, the Philippines, the U.S. and Hong Kong.

Universal said the amounts to be claimed have not yet been determined.

The company has already filed patent infringement lawsuits in the U.S. in March against Aruze and its founder Okada.
