Vallibel submits proposal for flagship integrated resort

Head of the Vallibel Group, Dhammika Perera, has submitted to the Board of Investment a proposal for a $350 million project - the Queensbury Integrated Resort and Casino, to be located at D.R. Wijewardena Mawatha.  The Queensbury would incorporate 

a 40 story building with 500 guest rooms, multiple ballrooms, a shopping mall, and has had design input from Mike Hong, designer of the Bellagio in Las Vegas.  The plan is to attract a US or Asian gaming brand to operate a second license and build another 500-700 room resort at the same location.  Mr Perera already operates in three locations under the brands Bally's, MGM and Bellagio, though these are unrelated to any operations in the USA.  The other operator is Rank Holdings, which is partnering with James Packer to build the Crown Colombo.
