Vietnam has removed its Covid-19 restrictions on international passenger flights starting today, removing limitations on the number of flights.
“Vietnam will lift restrictions on international flights starting February 15. The frequency of flights will be restored to pre-pandemic level,” said Tuoi Tre, citing Dinh Viet Son, deputy director of the Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam.
Son noted that other countries have already acknowledged the new policy, with the exception of China, who has not agreed to resume commercial flights with Vietnam.
It comes days after the Ministry of Transport directed the Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam to hold discussions with aviation authorities of other countries to resume international flights to Vietnam that were there pre-pandemic.
Vietnam had already begun resuming international flights with 15 countries earlier this year - with vaccinated passengers only requiring three days of self-isolation.
