Vietnam police take down gambling ring

Vietnam Police have prosecuted a woman and 13 of her associates who are accused of gambling and organising gambling activities in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, local media reports.

Over VND37 million (US$1,680) was seized by Vietnamese police, who raided the venue at the Binh Thanh District.

The leader of the gambling ring, Nguyen Thi Kim Ha, 46, is the sister of infamous ringleader Nguyen Hoang Kiet, 44 who was arrested in May.

Ha admitted at the police station that she had been organizing gambling activities over the last two months, and most of the gamblers were women.
