VIP tables drive profit rise for Lao Cai casino


Profits for the Lao Cai International Hotel casino in Vietnam rose 85 percent to A$4.75 million in the year ended June 30 as revenues rose 72 percent to A$8.58 million, driven by a 43 percent rise in VIP table revenue, according to owner Donaco International Ltd. The ASX-listed company said it had further raised the budget for the construction of its hotel building to $57 million from an original $43 million; the budget had risen to $52 million last month. Joey Lim, managing director, said revenue in July rose 130 percent to $1.68 million.
