Visitor arrivals to Singapore rose 1.1 percent to 1.22 million in May, compared to the same period the year before, with the number of Mainland Chinese visitors rising 47.1 percent, according to official data.
Visitors from mainland China rose to 141,236, while visitor numbers from Asia Pacific declined in almost every source market, with Indonesia recording the biggest year-on-year regional drop of 10.9 percent to 238,511.
Last year, Singapore launched a $802,491 marketing campaign to attract Chinese visitors to the island state amid a drop in tourism numbers.
