Westside City to open in 2021, boost gaming share to 20 percent: Tan

Alliance Global CEO Kevin Tan said the group’s Westside City IR will open in 2021 and will boost the company’s revenue share from gaming by almost half to 20 percent.

In an interview with Bloomberg, Tan said tourism and consumer spending will drive growth, with capacity at the group’s resorts to double.

Alliance Global and Genting Hong Kong own Travellers International Hotel Group, which operates Resorts World Manila. The new resort was scheduled to open in 2019, but was pushed back to allow the companies to amend the design to differentiate it from other properties around Entertainment City.

Consumer spending jumped more than 6 percent in the first quarter in the Philippines, where it accounts for more than three quarters of an economy that’s forecast to be one of Asia’s fastest growing this year.

“The next five years will be very exciting,” Tan said. “I am very confident about how well Travellers will do and how much contribution it will have to our overall top line. Westside will easily double our capacity,” Tan told the news agency.
