WPT announces partnership with largest Indian poker site


The World Poker Tour has announced a new brand licensing agreement with India online poker site, Adda52.com.

The partnership will allow for exclusive product licensing and services, and will qualify players from India to participate in WPT events, according to the press release.

"The association with the World Poker Tour comes at a very crucial time in India," said Anuj Gupta, founder & CEO of Adda52.com, the largest poker site in India.  "There is a poker boom and the Indian poker community is looking for a better tournament experience. With this tie-up, we want the poker community to be exposed to international standards of poker with better structures, well-defined tournaments, and the knowledge the WPT brings to the table."

The partnership also gives Adda52.com the rights to distribute select season of the WPT television library, create merchandise, and leverage the WPT brand to secure sponsorship partners.

Adda52.com, owned by Gaussian Networks Pvt Ltd. reached 800,000 registered users and hosted India's first-ever guaranteed tournament of 10 million Indian Rupees (US$150,000) this year.
