Macau’s anti corruption agency has flatly contradicted casino owner Steve Wynn who said the agency’s probe of his company’s land deal in Cotai was over.
“The relevant investigation is still under way,” the Commission Against Corruption of Macao said in an e-mail to Bloomberg News, who also reported that the agency declined to elaborate. The Bloomberg report quotes a spokeswoman for Wynn Resorts’ Hong Kong-listed unit Wynn Macau Ltd as saying she couldn’t immediately comment. While on a visit to Macau on Tuesday Wynn told reporters the agency was satisfied with the inspection of the land deal. He said he thought the probe was over.
